I graduated Magna Cum Laude, and authored an undergraduate thesis: "Venus in Augustan Rome." This thesis identified the cultural ancestors of Venus, and the socio-political motivations for her transformation during the reign of the Emperor Augustus. I presented and defended my thesis before my Dean, Department Chairperson, and History department.

Hobbies

I grew up in south Florida, I was stationed in Alaska while serving in the Army, and I currently reside in Colorado. My hobbies include writing, playing soccer, and snowboarding. I love Italian culture and the Italian language. I was fortunate to spend the summer of 2013 living in Venice to develop my Italian language skills, and I would love to return to La Serenissima. My favorite team is A.S. Roma, my favorite authors are David Mitchell and Kurt Vonnegut, and my favorite Roman emperor is Claudius, thanks in large part to Robert Graves' fictional account.
