Ever since I was 15, Spanish was something that intrigued me. I loved my classes in high school and went on to take several classes in college, resulting in my Spanish minor. Though I only have a "minor", I have been complimented countless times on my Spanish. People say, "Where are you from?" I say, "Texas." "But really, where are you from?" they ask. It's a wonderful compliment when you're mistaken for a native. It shows great respect to the hispanic culture when you learn to read, write, and speak correctly. I don't only know the language, either. I know the culture, I LIVE the culture, as my husband is Colombian. I have a unique ability to teach others, beginner or advanced, young or "wise" to understand, speak, read, and write Spanish. I have 2 years of formal tutoring experience plus have given countless non-formal Spanish classes. I also taught in a bilingual school when I lived in Colombia. I lived in Colombia for almost 2 years and I studied abroad in Argentina and Chile which allowed me to learn the dialects and slang from multiple countries. My Spanish lessons are not biased by one particular country. I don't teach that there's only one way to say something or one word for everything. I want to continue tutoring because Spanish is something I love and I want to share that interest with others. If Spanish class is boring and frustrating to you, I can help! I believe I have the ability to teach others to fool native speakers into thinking you are a native too. Some of my greatest friends are hispanic and I never would have met them nor connected with them in the way that I did had it not been for the Spanish language.
