Throughout my entire life music has always been what’s inspired me most, and I really enjoy meeting other musicians and sharing what I’ve learned in order to help make their path a little easier. I started playing the piano at the age of 5, and even though I didn’t like it all that much at the time, perhaps in hindsight Ma had the right idea about this one:) Those early lessons helped to build a lot of good musical habits, and about 10 years later I picked up a guitar and it’s changed my life ever since. However in addition to what I’ve learned about playing the instruments, I’ve been fortunate to learn a lot about the business of music, how to interact with and find other musicians, and some of those “smaller” things that can often be the difference between just playing music and letting it really flow with some groove! I’ve played in several bands, hosted a weekly jamband jam in New York City for the better part of a decade, and also created my own original band Mr. Hunter that’s recorded 3 albums and been awarded as a Relix Magazine “Artist on the Verge”. So whether it’s learning to play the instrument, directing or arranging for a band, writing your own music, or figuring out the next step to take from a business standpoint, I’m glad you’re here and I look forward to helping you reach your goal. While most of us grew up hearing how if you don’t “make it” by a certain age that your window of opportunity to become a musician closes, I like to think that as we continue to learn and grow that it becomes more possible each day. I also realize that each musician has their own unique vision, and what’s important isn’t how it stacks up to someone else’s, but rather just how it brings joy and pleasure to your own life. I’d love to get to know you better and help you find the path to reach where you know you want to go! -Chris Marcus
