Over 10 years of tutoring experience in various subjects including Elementary, Middle and High School levels. I tutor because it is the best part of teaching. It is great to show students how to figure out a topic that they are struggling with in a different light and see them understand! I graduated UNC in 2008 and have been teaching, subbing, and tutoring since then. I also tutored in college and taught night school classes over the summers while I was on break. I have worked with tons of diverse backgrounds and tutored individuals who are struggling with the hardest concepts. It is essential that students feel comfortable learning and be presented with information in a new way rather than the same way they are being taught in the classroom. This is typically what I see with students, they are not being given the material the way they learn best and this causes them to struggle. I work to get to know them and what their specific learning techniques are and then mold our tutoring to fit their specific needs.
